Investorâs âInsiderâ Insight
Your friend in success Rob,
Yesterday I was reading a quote:
âDonât focus on making money; focus on protecting what you have.â
â Paul Tudor Jones
This quote is the best mindset to keep when trading, but only in the way that you put every possible setup that matches your edge through a process of atleast 3 screens.
When you do this you protect your capital in such a way that you can fully take advantage of high probability setups. Trading this way is all about popping those setups when they arrive and being willling to risk captial to find out whether the market will confirm what your edge says has a high probability of happening.
If you swing at every pitch or take every shot then you run out of ammunation âcaptialâ to take advantage of the highest probability setups that are more of your pitch.
Keep in mind that Paul T. Jones made massive returns at Tudor captial by focusing on trades that could net 5-1 reward vs risk return on capital.
đ˘ 1. Quick Hit â Market Summary
The S&P 500 saw little movement today, hovering in a tight range with minimal gains.
Keep in mind that the $SP500 and $COMPQ are near all time highs last hit back in January of this year.
Price action was indecisiveâoscillating up, down, and sidewaysâwithout a clear push in either direction.
Technically, the charts still favor a continued upward move.
Today could simply be a pause in the recent rise that began two days ago, not necessarily a sign of reversal. However, if the momentum continues to stall, sideways consolidation may dominate the near-term. Should any weakness emerge, weâll be watching closely for a probable downside setup that could support put trades.
Current Positions:
- Still in calls on Sherwin-Williams (SHW) and SPY.
- Closed QQQ call trade today for a 100% gain.
Despite todayâs muted action, thereâs no clear evidence of selling pressure, suggesting that few market participants are eager to push prices lowerâfor now.
Keep an eye on volume and volatility tomorrow for signs of breakout or breakdown.
đ 2. Biggest Movers & Sector Shake-Up
Large cap gainers AMD, MSTR the MSTR was a nice call trade if you caught it because itâs options move well in the summer.
NVDA - up 4.3% and closed on a record high
đŻ 3. The Hitlist â Stocks on the Radar
